Dear MBC Family,

On Wednesday, the Maryland school superintendent announced that all Maryland public schools will be closed until at least April 24. This announcement also means that all extracurricular activities and community use events (including in-person church services) will be canceled. The safety and health of our church family is most important and we will continue to worship the Lord through our online services. Over the next few weeks we will be exploring options to improve our broadcast quality and reach while engaging with our members and regular attenders. We will be continuing to worship online via Zoom. Please email for info on how to join our online service.
Let us continue to be in prayer for perseverance and steadfast faith during this challenging time.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Dear Montrose Members & Attenders,

The spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing a major disruption to all of our daily lives. Our church is not exempt from these new realities. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has ordered all schools in the State of Maryland closed until March 27th. The purpose is to limit personal contact in order to slow the spread of the virus. Many congregations have already made decisions to cancel services and/or move to online platforms for their worship services. Because of the highly contagious nature of Coronavirus this will help to protect the most vulnerable populations from becoming infected.
While it is not normally our practice to cancel in-person worship services, in the present circumstance I believe it is prudent for our church to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of this virus. Therefore, we will not be conducting our regular in-person Sunday worship service at Lucy Barnsley Elementary School for the next two weeks beginning this Sunday, March 15th and Sunday March 22nd. However, we will be conducting our worship service online both Sunday, March 15th at 11:00AM and Sunday, March 22nd at 11:00AM. We will use Zoom video and audio conferencing for our worship services. Please email for information on how to join our online service.
Let us pray for wisdom, patience, and increased faith in the Lord during this time of disruption. God is in control.

He is Sovereign. Psalm 46:1-2 reminds us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea.”
