At Montrose Baptist Church, we take special pride in our ministry to the littlest of God’s family. We believe that “children are a hertiage from the Lord” and as such we must be good stewards of these precious souls. Our goal is to impact children with the good news of the Gospel, so that they may grow into Christ-centered adults.
Our children’s ministry begins at birth and goes through the 8th grade.
Our staff and volunteers are eager and excited to share Christ with your child. All staff and volunteers have been fingerprinted and screened to ensure the safety of your child.

On Sundays at 10:30 a.m. we begin nursery for infants through 4 years of age. Nursery is located in the Administration Building.

Children’s Church

Also beginning at 10:30 a.m. is our Children’s Church Program. All children 4 years of age through 8th grade are welcome to participate in Children’s Church. Registration for Children’s Church is held in the Administration Building.

Montrose proudly participates in the AWANA clubs for boys and girls. Awana a is fun, Christ-centered program that features trained leaders who are eager to teach your child about the Bible. Awana Club meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for children and youth that bless the entire family! Trained leaders guide children through age-appropriate Bible study materials and model the Christian life for them. Clubbers learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, Awana trains children in the timeless truths of the Bible. Awana is available for children ages three through 12th grade.
Awana Clubs are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Ages 3-5: Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word. Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their Cubbies friends, they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so that they will respect and trust Him for life.

Grades K-2nd: Sparks ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible. This builds a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Clubbers enjoy a time for games, bible lesson, and Bible study as they progress through their club handbook. Divided into three years, each year Sparks explore the biographies of Biblical figures, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities.

Truth & Training

Grades 3rd—5th: Truth & Training (T&T) engages third- through sixth graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.

Grades 6th – 8th: Trek challenges middle-school students to consider their destiny in Christ and pursue it through life applications of God’s Word. Through games, engaging bible lessons, scripture memory and study,
logo-trekTrek uniquely addresses student’s inquisitions using the Bible. The road trip/ travel theme helps teenagers learn to navigate the bumpy roads of life. All group members work on the same curriculum, no matter what grade they are in.

Grades 9th -12th: Journey club brings the strengths of the Awana program to high school students in a profoundly relevant format. Journey establishes high school students as lifelong
journey-logo-bwdisciples through a deep study of God’s Word, Scripture memory, and fun application. These disciplines mobilize students to live with godly perspective and evident faith.
